Thank you for using RenderSoft JustifyText Control. The primary purpose of this ActiveX control is to complement WordPad, which is distributed together with Windows 95/98. While WordPad can only justify its text left or right, this control is able to 'fully justify' the text, meaning both the left AND right side of the text can be aligned. This is very useful for desktop publishing, as you can make newspaper-style columns of text easily.
Before using the control, you have to run the setup.exe program first.
After installation, you can test the control by opening Wordpad and selecting Insert::Object from the menu. A dialog will appear, choose 'JustifyText Control' and click OK.
For a demonstration of the control in action, open the file 'example.rtf' in WordPad. This file can be found in the same directory of the setup.exe program after installation.
Because this is an ActiveX control, you can use it in other ActiveX container applications that support printing.
When you inserted the JustifyText Control, a dialog box to appears. In the middle of the dialog box is a simple editor, in which you enter your text. Above the edit box on the top is a row of buttons that perform the standard editing functions like cut, copy, paste , clear and undo.
Below the editbox are the Font, Update and Close buttons. Clicking the Font button allows you to choose the size, style and color of the font.
Clicking the Close button will close the dialog box. To bring up the dialog box again, double click the control inside the container application.
The Instant Update option cause the text in the edit box to reflect instantly on the control. When this option is not checked, what you have typed in the edit box will not be shown immediately on the control. In this case, you have to click the Update button manually to update your entry in the Edit Box.
When using the JustifyText Control, you can justify your text left, center, right or full. The left, right and center justification options are more or less self-explanatory. For the 'Full Justify' option, the control aligns your text both left AND right, making a nice rectangluar block of text.
When the full justification option is selected, three other sub-options are enabled. They are the Last Line No Justify, Trim Beginning Spaces and Trim End Spaces options.
When the Last Line No Justify option is selected, the last line of every paragraph will not be fully justified; instead they will revert to the left justification only.
The Trim Beginning Spaces option will remove the spaces in front of a line before displaying it. This option is turned on by default. Turning it off allows you to indent the start of your paragraphs by adding some spaces to it in front.
The Trim End Spaces option will remove the spaces the end of a line before displaying it. This option is turned on by default.
This control can only work with ANSI characters.
When inserting the ActiveX control, make sure the control is not displayed as an icon.
If the control size is too big, i.e if it spans larger than a page, it will not function properly.
Make sure the font size is not too large.
